Help soil hold moisture longer, from farms and orchards to home gardens.

## Product terminology

- Agricultural hydrogel is also known as water retaining granules or a soil water retainer. Our agricultural range includes potassium polyacrylate for root-zone moisture management.
- Product keywords: Agricultural Hydrogel; water retaining granules; soil water retainer; potassium polyacrylate

## Product information

- Water retaining granules are functional super absorbent polymers that form a miniature reservoir around plant roots. They help maintain a moist root environment and improve soil water and fertilizer retention.
- They improve water and fertilizer utilization and support soil structure and aeration. Suitability and dosage depend on crop, soil and local conditions; ask our team for application guidance.

## Product specifications

- Dry form: White granules
- Particle size: 30–100 mesh
- After hydration: Hydrated gel
- Planting guide: Household planting · Item 110
- The household guide applies to Item 110. It allows increased rates in dry, drought or extreme conditions; confirm any adjustment for the selected grade, soil and local conditions with our team.

## Granule specification

- The supplied product image lists white granules, 30–100 mesh. Confirm the grade for the intended application.

## Application examples

- Tree transplanting and root-zone placement; crop seedlings in furrows; lawn turf; forest planting; landscaping.

## Household planting guide — Item 110

- Wet mix: mix 1 teaspoon with 500 mL of water, wait 1 hour, then mix the expanded granules with 5 L of potting mix.
- Dry mix: mix 1 teaspoon with every 5 L of potting mix, pot up the plant, then water thoroughly.
- Established plants: make vertical holes toward the root zone, add granules, water in, then fill the holes.
- Laying turf: evenly spread 10 g/m² before laying turf, then water.
- Sowing seeds: mix 10 g/m² into the top 50 mm of topsoil, sow the seeds, then water.
- These quantities are from the supplied Item 110 household-planting guide. Suitability and dosage depend on the selected grade, crop, soil and local conditions. Contact High Smart for other grades or adjusted application rates.

## From dry granules to hydrated gel.

- Fine white granules absorb water and form translucent, irregular gel particles.
- Before hydration: Fine white dry granules. After hydration: Translucent hydrated gel particles.
- Dry granules
- Contact with water
- Water absorption and gel formation
- This illustration shows how the material changes, not its actual expansion ratio or absorption speed. Confirm water quantity and soaking time for your chosen grade.
- Before-and-after illustrations; sizes are not shown to scale.

## How hydrogel changes moisture retention.

- Explore how a water-retaining polymer holds moisture around the roots.
- Without water-retaining agent: Water moves through soil pores without an added polymer reservoir.
- With water-retaining agent: Hydrated polymer holds water near the roots and releases it as the surrounding soil dries.
- Illustration of root-zone water retention; actual performance depends on the grade, soil and environment.

## Item 110 · Wet-mix example

- Dry granule quantity: 1 tsp
- Water added: 500 mL
- Soaking time: 1 h
- Potting mix to add after soaking: 5 L
- Wet-mix example for this item. Confirm quantities and soaking time for your chosen grade. The animation is sped up and does not represent a measured absorption rate.

## Moisture where roots need it.

- These white water-retaining granules have a listed particle size of 30–100 mesh and help retain moisture around roots. The household planting guide below is for Item 110. Confirm the grade, dose and method for your crop, soil and local conditions; ask us about other items or adjustments.
- Tree transplanting: Apply around the roots as part of a soil-conditioning plan suited to the planting conditions.
- Crops and seedlings: Water-retaining granules for crop seedlings and planting furrows; select dosage for the crop and soil.
- Lawns and turf: Use a moisture-retention treatment when laying turf or establishing a lawn.
- Forestry and landscaping: For forest planting, landscape projects and orchards, with application-specific guidance.
- Household planting: For potted and established plants. The Item 110 guide covers wet mixing, dry mixing and root-zone application.
